Regulation of research ethics
The preparation of dissertations that include the implementation of research is carried out based on the current legislation and the Regulation of Principles of the Research Ethics and Ethics Committee, which is posted on the Panteion University website. As stated in the abovementioned regulation, "The control of the Committee of Ethics and Research Ethics (E.H.D.E.) is only mandatory for funded research projects, as provided by law. However, it can also be extended to doctoral theses or dissertations, when requested in writing and with reasons by the author or the Supervisor".
The Coordinating Committee of the Postgraduate Programme "CRIMINOLOGY" informs postgraduate students of its compliance before the presentation and approval of the dissertations’ topics by the Coordinating Committee of the Postgraduate Programme and the General Assembly of the Department of Sociology and subsequently the respective Supervisor in cooperation with the three-member committee ensure its observance during the research process.
In addition, the students are informed about the special study that has been issued in the framework of the MA "CRIMINOLOGY" on the Framework of ethical and professional rules of criminological research, in the light of the GDPR, which is posted on the website of the Postgraduate Programme "CRIMINOLOGY" Πρόγραμμα Μεταπτυχιακών Σπουδών «ΕΓΚΛΗΜΑΤΟΛΟΓΙΑ» - «Πλαίσιο κανόνων ηθικής και δεοντολογίας της εγκληματολογικής έρευνας, υπό το πρίσμα του ΓΚΠΔ» and registered in the Panteion University Library.
