Curriculum Vitae

George Chloupis is an Attorney at Law at the Supreme Court of Greece (Areios Pagos) and an Assistant Professor of Criminal Law and Criminology at the Law School of the European University of Cyprus. He is the Director of the Master's Program in Criminal Law at the Law School and a Coordinator/Adjunct Tutor in the postgraduate programs at the Hellenic Open University (HOU).

He is a graduate of the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He holds a diploma from the Willem Pompe Institute at Utrecht University in the Netherlands, obtained in 1997, focusing on the Internationalization of Crime and Criminal Justice, with a thesis on international police cooperation titled "INTERNATIONAL POLICE CO-OPERATION (INTERPOL – EUROPOL)" as part of the Erasmus program with a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation of Greece (I.K.Y.).

He also holds a two-year postgraduate degree, obtained in 1997, from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Law School in the Department of Criminal Sciences, with a grade of "Excellent."

He earned a PhD from the same university's Law School in 2004, with a dissertation titled: "Cross-border and Transnational Organized Crime and Methods of Addressing It".
